Join an International Network of Volunteers and FriendsRight now, Lions are improving communities around the world. We're meeting to plan local projects. We're sponsoring international exchanges for young people. We're bringing clean drinking water to a remote village. We're building. We're sharing. We're repairing. And we're having fun. We have community clubs that meet in person. Cyber clubs that meet online. And special interest clubs that can be based on your profession, a hobby or anything you care about. Each club matches the needs of its members to help them support their community – right now. Lions Clubs MembersLions are groups of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving their communities. We are young people, families and Baby Boomers alike. To become a Lion is to become an active volunteer, a member of a respected international organization, a leader in your community and a friend to people in need. As part of their mission to help others Lions take on roles as organizers, advocates, fund-raisers and hands-on volunteers. Learn more about what we do. There are many reasons to become a member. As a Lion, you'll:
You'll grow personally and professionally. And you'll know that what you do is worthwhile and appreciated. Becoming a Member of our club! If you are interested in learning more about the Hanover Lions Club, just mention it to a member of the club (see below for list) We meet monthly on the first Tuesday of every month for dinner and a meeting. The first step would be to attend one of these meetings where you can see how our group operates, what activities we are planning, and how much fun we have! Being a Lion is a great opportunity to get to know and develop personal and professional relationships with people in Hanover or the immediate area. As a Lion you will have opportunities to work on projects that are of interest to you, and to take a leadership role or not, as you wish. Volunteering your time not only helps those in need but also gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are making a difference. You will acquire new skills, put old ones to use, and will cultivate lasting friendships while discovering more about yourself and your community. Membership in all Lions Clubs is by invitation. Every new member is sponsored and mentored by a current club member. Everyone who gets involved receives support and help from their sponsor and the group at large. There is an annual fee which also covers the cost of your meal each month. The fees paid by our members go to an "Admin" account. Funds raised at Lions-sponsored events for the benefit of others are kept separate from Admin fee income, and are distributed to worthwhile individuals and causes in our community. If you are interested, to receive an application form, contact Diane Patton (Membership Coordinator) at 519-364-4456 or Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
